Low maintenance garden, Fulham

This project demonstrated how a space can be reimagined on a limited budget. The house is a very attractive Victorian terrace, which has been beautifully renovated, creating an expansive kitchen with floor to ceiling windows spanning the back wall of the house.

The garden did not warrant the attention given it by the windows, however the brief was limited to replanting.

The client was keen to make the view from the kitchen as green as possible, but without introducing any more planting space. The artificial grass acts as a playmat for the children, whilst wall wiring on all three sides will allow climbing plants (Trachelospermum and Passiflora) to scramble up and soften the boundaries.

The half-standard trees are playful but formal, with evergreen underplanting to minimise maintenance and provide year round structure and interest.
